MY Finance Tracker for Android · Effective 21 October 2026

In short
  • Everything you enter – payments, income, notes, receipt photos – is stored only on your phone. We don't have servers, and we never receive it.
  • There is no account and no sign-up.
  • The free version shows ads from Google AdMob. Google's ad software collects some device information to show and measure ads, as described below.
  • If you buy Premium (no ads, plus Excel export), Google Play handles the payment. We never see your card details.

This policy explains how the MY Finance Tracker app ("the app", "we") handles information. It applies to the Android app published on Google Play under the package name com.myfinancetracker.app.

1. Information you enter in the app

The app stores the following only on your device, in the app's private storage:

We do not collect, transmit, sell or share this information. It never leaves your phone unless you export it yourself.

Backups and moving to a new phone

The app's data is excluded from Android's automatic cloud backup to Google Drive. Android's direct phone-to-phone transfer, when you set up a new phone and choose to copy apps, can still copy it. You can also export a backup (.zip) from Settings → Your data, and with Premium an Excel workbook (.xlsx) with your totals and receipt photos. These files are created on your phone and saved wherever you choose; the app never sends them anywhere. Once exported, they are under your control, and the rules of wherever you keep or share them (for example a cloud drive or email) apply. Remember that a backup or Excel file contains your payment details and receipt photos.

2. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version of the app shows banner ads provided by Google AdMob, through the Google Mobile Ads SDK. The app itself does not send your payments, amounts or any other data you enter to Google or to advertisers.

To show ads, measure them and prevent fraud, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and process:

DataPurpose
Device identifiers, such as the Android advertising IDAdvertising, ad measurement, fraud prevention
IP address and the approximate location derived from itAdvertising, fraud prevention, compliance
Interactions with ads, such as ad views and tapsAdvertising and analytics
Diagnostic information, such as ad-loading performance and crash data from the SDKAnalytics and keeping the ads working

This data is collected by Google, not by us. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and in Google's privacy policy.

Your choices

3. Premium purchase (Google Play)

The optional Premium upgrade (no ads, plus Excel export) is a one-time purchase through Google Play Billing. Google processes the payment under Google's privacy policy and the Google Play terms. The app only receives confirmation that the purchase was made, so it can turn on Premium and restore it if you reinstall. We never receive your name, email, card or payment details.

4. Permissions the app uses

PermissionWhy
NotificationsTo remind you about payments and budget alerts.
Alarms & reminders (exact alarms)So reminders ring at the time you set, even while your phone is locked. You can turn this off; reminders may then arrive late.
Run at startupTo set your reminders again after the phone restarts or the time zone changes.
InternetOnly for ads and Google Play billing. Your own data is never sent over the internet.

5. Children

The app is meant for adults managing their own bills and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children – the app does not collect personal information from anyone.

6. Keeping and deleting your data

Your data stays on your phone until you delete it. You can delete individual payments and lists in the app. Clearing the app's storage, or uninstalling the app, permanently removes everything the app stored, except backup or Excel files you exported yourself. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

7. Security

Your data is kept in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read. You can add a PIN, fingerprint or face lock; with the lock on, the app hides amounts on the home-screen widget and, on Android 13 and newer, hides its contents in the recent-apps view. Please keep your phone itself protected with a screen lock, and keep your backup files somewhere safe.

8. Changes to this policy

If the app's handling of information changes, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. Significant changes will also be mentioned in the app's release notes.
